About the role
Fresco is looking for a talented Android Kotlin Engineer with Kotlin Multiplatform experience to join a passionate team with the mission to bring value and a great user experience to our products. This role will be involved in setting the foundations of our core mobile (and potentially web) technology by implementing a common piece of software in Kotlin Multiplatform.

You will learn about the new and growing domain of smart kitchen appliances and develop the Fresco app with input from design sprints, user testing and partner requests. Combining IoT devices and step-by-step recipes provided by our platform with modern design patterns and best practices.

Fresco’s main product is Kitchen OS, a system that interacts with IoT devices, third-party services, customer-facing apps and web tools while maintaining a strong brand identity. You will need to coordinate and work with other teams taking care of individual components.

This role is open to candidates in Dublin, Spain or Portugal. In Dublin, we have embraced hybrid working, so you may work from home for up to 4 days per week, and remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 4 weeks per year.

In Spain or Portugal, you must be willing to travel to our Spanish HQ in Madrid on a monthly basis.

This role reports to the Lead Android Engineer.

Your responsibilities

  • Suggest and implement architectural decisions in our SDK based in Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Extend the features and the potential consumers (web technology) of the SDK
  • Contribute to mobile team in general, specially in Android Kotlin projects
  • Collaborate in creating a very professional documentation for external consumers of the SDK
  • Own the entire development lifecycle for the specific project, including testing and releasing

Your qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • 5 years in mobile technology (Android Kotlin mainly)
  • Knowledge/Experience in Kotlin Multiplatform
  • Understanding of common design patterns and GUI architectures
  • Experience with functional reactive programming, Coroutines, Architecture Components, BLE and WiFi network management
  • Knowledge of clean code practices
  • Proactively present ideas, expectations and information in a concise, well-organised way
  • Experience with git-flow and code review
  • Experience in implementing A/B experiments

Desired qualifications

  • Experience in managing/coordinating small teams
  • Experience with front/back end technologies

Expectations

In 3 months, you’ll have gained an understanding of the main components of the apps, being able to deliver improvements and new functionalities driven by quarterly team objectives.

In 6 months, you’ll have delivered a functionality that impacted the achievement of the company goals for 2025, and significant contribution in the maintenance and the quality of the codebase.
