Operations Manager

Making it easy to do good 🌎

✦ We are considering both full-time permanent and contractor applications for this position ✦

📍 This hybrid role requires working from our lovely London office in Fitzrovia twice a week.

If you've been looking to join a fast-growing startup, backed by the same investors as Stripe & Airbnb, with a mission to make a huge positive impact, then you’ve found the right place!

Our Mission

Our mission at Goodstack is to make it easy to do good on a global scale.

🌎

We empower companies to seamlessly integrate positive impact into what they do through a unified platform while supporting nonprofits in gaining access to cutting-edge technology and finding new funding streams.

Global brands including LinkedIn, HSBC, OpenAI, Atlassian and Twilio - as well as thousands of nonprofits including the Red Cross, Cancer Research, and Oxfam - use Goodstack to make a difference.

This year, we are on track to facilitate over $3 billion in donations to good causes, building on the $1 billion enabled in 2023, $120 million in 2022, and $3.5 million in 2021.

To achieve our mission, we need you 🫵

Join Our Series A Startup as Operations Manager to Enable Thousands of Nonprofits To Receive Products and Funding!

We’re looking for a highly process-driven, analytical, strategic, and hands-on Operations Manager to lead the operational process of verifying nonprofit organisations to enable them to receive products and funding from Goodstack’s partners. This role involves working closely with our outsourced vendor partners, designing and optimising their operational processes, and working cross-functionally with internal teams such as Product and Compliance to ensure we are driving efficient, high-quality outcomes.

This role reports to the Head of Operations, with the potential to have a huge influence on the future direction of the company. If you’re a self-starter who is passionate about driving operational excellence and want to work for a company making a hugely positive societal impact, this could be the perfect role for you!

As Operations Manager, Your Mission Will Be To:
  • KPI reporting and improvement: Be the point of contact on our operational performance across the verifications business. It will be your responsibility to ensure we are hitting and exceeding our targets across KPIs such as cost-per-verification, processing time and SLA adherence.
  • Data analysis: Lead on digging into the numbers to draw out trends, dig into root causes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Team leadership: Provide feedback and support to both vendor agents and internal employees, helping to build their skills and career paths.
  • Oversee daily operations: Lead daily operational workflows, monitor key metrics, and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Manage capacity plans: Ensure our operations can meet demand by working with cross-functional teams to forecast and plan.
  • Vendor management: Collaborate with our vendor partners to ensure that they deliver on time and to the expected quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Regularly assess execution against plans, identify opportunities for process optimisation, and drive efficiencies by collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement impactful, business-wide changes.
  • Training & development: Plan and organise training sessions to ensure all operational flows are covered and the team is set up for success.
This Role Is a Perfect Match for You If You Have:
  • People management experience: 1-3 years of experience managing a team and helping them grow.
  • 3-5 years in a relevant environment: That could be a top-tier consultancy or with high-growth tech startups.
  • Process-driven mindset: You love diving into a complex process to understand and optimise it end-to-end.
  • Bias for action: You see a problem and want to fix it. You enjoy building - whether it's a new process, a revamped org structure, or a business case for a tooling investment - and thrive on working collaboratively across functions to drive impactful solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise: There will always be more to do than there are hours in the day; being able to navigate through this by prioritising what will deliver the most value is a must.
  • Excellent data and analytics skills: Analytics will be at the core of your responsibilities. You enjoy digging into numbers to understand performance and drive operational efficiency, and are able to present findings — both ad-hoc and on an ongoing reporting basis — simply and effectively.
  • Vendor management experience: Experience working closely with vendors to ensure quality and performance.
  • Great communication skills: You can articulate complex information in simple ways.
Bonus If You Have Knowledge Or Love Of:
  • SQL: Not required, but SQL knowledge would be beneficial for diving into data.
  • Project management tools: Experience with tools like Jira, Asana, or Trello to manage workflows and tasks.
  • Startup experience: Experience working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
  • Fintech experience: Familiarity with the fintech space and its unique opportunities.
