About xLight

xLight is building the world's most powerful laser to revolutionize semiconductor lithography, metrology, and for other critical applications. Our approach harnesses the power of free-electron lasers, building on accelerator technology in use globally at scientific user facilities. Extending this technology, we are developing industrial-grade light sources, engineered for continuous operation, to meet the sophisticated demands of next-generation patterning, metrology, and inspection applications. Join us in this new revolution.

At xLight, we hire exceptional talent — and exceptional means more than a strong résumé. How we achieve results is just as important as the results themselves, which is why attitude and character matter as much as technical skill. We believe great talent is widely distributed, not confined to a particular school or background. We seek individuals who demonstrate ownership, a spirit of collaboration, technical curiosity, and a genuine willingness to learn and grow — guided by our core values of Respect, Integrity, Creativity, and Engineering Excellence. We don't just hire for what someone can do today. We hire for who they are and who they are becoming.

What We Need — and Why It Matters

xLight is seeking an experienced ERP Implementation Lead to drive the implementation and ongoing rollout of a modern ERP system as we scale and formalize our financial, procurement, and operational processes. This role will own the shepherd the implementation through go-live: driving the schedule, managing the self-hosted deployment, and any implementation partners, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and holding scope, budget, and timeline.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on ERP implementation experience in hardware, semiconductor, or complex-capital equipment environments and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.

This is a part-time consulting engagement starting at approximately 5 hours per week, with the potential to transition to a full-time role as the system and organization scale.

What You'll Do

  • Own the ERP implementation program end-to-end: project plan, milestones, critical paths, RAID log (risks, actions, issues, decisions), and status reporting.
  • Work closely with IT to manage the self-hosted deployment – hosting, infrastructure, IT ops, backup, etc.
  • Configure the ERP system to support xLight’s financial, operational, and procurement workflows, establishing the ERP as a centralized source of truth for purchasing, receipts, inventory, costs, payment status, obligations, and cash flow visibility.
  • Define integration strategies between the ERP and engineering/business systems, including Teamcenter/PLM, JAMA, Primavera P6, and other relevant platforms.
  • Manage data migration, UAT, training, and cutover planning against the 4-6 month go-live target.
  • Track program budget and TCO against plan.
  • Support the development of reporting structures, dashboards, and operational insights aligned with hardware build and production ramp timelines.
  • Partner closely with IT, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, and other stakeholders in a matrixed environment to drive successful implementation.
  • Help establish processes and best practices that support long-term operational scalability.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of ERP implementation experience, preferably within hardware, semiconductor, manufacturing, or complex capital equipment environments.
  • Hands-on implementation experience with Odoo and NetSuite strongly preferred, including self-hosted deployments.
  • Demonstrated project management delivery: schedule ownership, vendor/contractor management, scope and budget control, structured status reporting.
  • Working proficiency in Python and scripting; comfortable reading and discussing code with developers on customizations and integrations.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs and integration patterns; able to scope and manage API-based connections between ERP and third-party systems.
  • Experience defining system integrations with engineering and operational tools such as Teamcenter, JAMA, Primavera P6, or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to scope, prioritize, and deliver core ERP functionality within a 4-6 month implementation timeline.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment with rapidly evolving business needs.
  • Willingness to begin as a part-time consultant with potential interest in future full-time opportunities.
